The 67W, 96W, and 140W chargers can be used with a USB-C to MagSafe 3 Cable to charge MacBook Pro models introduced in October 2021. Using a higher-rated charger than the power requirements of the device is fine, but vice-versa is not recommended. Using any of the following chargers from Apple will enable fast charging on an iPhone 8 or later to reach 50% battery in around 30 minutes. The 140-watt version is also the first to incorporate Gallium nitride to improve efficiency by reducing its energy loss to heat, as well as its size. The 140-watt USB-C Power Adapter was released in 2021 for the Apple M1 Pro and M1 Max-based MacBook Pros, but is only available as a separate purchase to support fast charging when used with a USB-C to MagSafe 3 Cable. The 96-watt USB-C Power Adapter was released in 2019 to meet the power requirements of the 16-inch MacBook Pro. The 29- watt USB-C Power Adapter was the first to be released in 2015 and was also included with the MacBook with Retina display.
